I have been fishing since I was a kid, But after getting married and having Children stopped going for about 9 years (well upto november 2006 had only been about 3 times in past 9 years) A friend of mine started going again in November 06 and I decided to dust off my tackle and start again. I was not a lover of commercial fisheries before as I used to be a Bream man and used to spend most of my time at Wyboston Lakes, Near St. Neots Cambridgeshire. But I tried Manor Farm Fishing, Near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire and this changed my outlook on commercial fisheries, as on my 2nd trip there after remembering how to fish I caught a 15lb 4oz mirror in their Blunham Lake which is the smallest lake at the complex they said that the carp go upto about 18lb in the Blunham lake so I was well chuffed as this was also my 1st double figure carp. Anyway thanks to my mate Alan for getting me back into fishing and another mate Bob who told me about Pellets (I never saw these around when I used to fish) I am now again HOOKED on angling... |

This is my 1st double carp a 15lb 4oz mirror, Caught at Manor Farm Fishing, Biggleswade on a 20 year old Normark 14' float rod 4lb main line and 2 1/2lb hook length and size 18 (barbless) hook (I wasn't ecspecting to catch fish over a few pound) But it was great fun getting it in, it deffinatly tested my rod. |
